hmm... well, their kidnapper guy got shot up by charlie, so maybe they have decided to change tack... and are just watching her from a distance? or, maybe the kidnapper guy was the bad others leader, and they are trying to regroup after losing him.
i think the others that kidnapped claire's baby are a different group from the ones that kidnapped walt, though
i don't think danielle is an other, but i definitely think if it meant getting her daughter back, she would conspire with them, possibly even against sayid...
