What was Kate thinking?

If you've seen the episode, you know what I'm talking about. I'm going to try to do this without a spoiler, but just to be safe . . . I'll post it in white. You know what to do.

***When the monster was coming, chasing them, and they were all running, why did Kate keep her backpack on? I know she was panicking and all, but if she had the dynamite, didn't she think she would have blown up if she ran? When Jack asked for it, why did she go to her backpack? I mean, duh, she would have blown up for crying out loud. She couldn't have had the dynamite in her bag and yet she went for it anyway. *sighs* I just don't get what she could have been thinking.***

And now that I've gotten that off of my chest, I hope others can tell me what was going on in that head of hers.

hmm u got the point there, and i always knew not to trust kate.

about the explosives, i just dont know :S, she could of killed em all if jack didnt swap them around.

That's what I'm saying. With her running and the pack still on her back, if she didn't kill just herself, she could have killed everyone else! I mean . . . duh. She couldn't have been thinking when she started running through the jungle. I was disappointed. I thought she was a bit brighter than that.

hehe yer same - i mean she did do alot of stupid things throughout the season but that suprised me heaps :(

I don't trust Kate. I kinda like her just because she's a mystery wrapped in an enigma. :lol: It's interesting watching her life unravel before our eyes the way it's been so far. I think she's just starting to get what she deserves. Too bad she didn't have the dynamite. As long as she was far enough away from Jack and Hurley, she could blow herself (and Locke for that matter) up and I probably wouldn't have batted an eye.

Okay. That was mean, but the woman done did Sawyer wrong for not saying good-bye to him. And then she gives Jack those "eyes" (and the ladies here know what I mean by that!) every chance she gets. Just pick one of 'em already!

I was wondering why Jack took off his pack before running! It never clicked!

I was actually yelling at the TV. I thought I caught a continuity error or something. I'm like, "Kate's got the dynamite. Why is she running? Why did Jack take his pack off? They got it wrong!" I was so loud that my mom, who was in the kitchen washing dishes at the time, actually stopped what she was doing to ask me what I was yelling about. Then I was even getting loud when I explained it to her! :lol2: She was like, "Tracy, calm down. It's just a TV show." It was quite funny and shows why I need to watch the show without anyone else around.

well, maybe there was a continuity problem.. i mean, Kate didn't know she had the placebo! she should have taken her pack off first! But since she didn't, it shows she's ditsy and would have gone the way of the science teacher.

I think Kate leaving the pack on just does what you said. It shows she wasn't thinking. I mean, if I had the dynamite in my pack, I'd put it down before I ran. And she couldn't have known she didn't have it. She was shocked when Jack told her to get it out of his pack and not hers. And then she got all huffy with him later about it. I just thought it was an error that the writers and whatnot hadn't caught at first and felt so proud of myself for catching it. Then you find out Jack never put the stuff in Kate's backpack in the first place!

Kate can be really dumb sometimes. There is no way I would be able to forget i was "carrying" dynamite especially after what happened to Arzt. But i guess thats Kate for ya. Doesnt think when she needs to.
