Exodus Part 1
?Where will you hide them??

Okay forgive me for any incorrect dialogue or missed scenes?I am not the world?s best technical genius. In fact, far from it, I am a techno-idiot. I messed up copying Lost so everything you read is from bare notes and my memory.

This week?s episode was very exciting in some parts, and slow in others. We did not have one centric figure, but we did see how various members of the survivors ended up on the island?at least we see and hear about a few of our central ones. So, before launching into the central part of the show: the launching of the raft and the hunt for the dynamite, a few of the scenes are described below this.

First, we see Walt and Michael in a hotel room in Sydney. Walt turns on the TV and loud, waking up Michael who objects and turns it off. Walt tells him that ?other dad? let him watch whenever and as loud as he wanted. He leaves the room, running off with the dog. Michael chases him down and pulls him back to the room.

Next Jack is at the airport bar when he meets a young woman. She is drinking Tequila and tonic because she?s afraid of flying. She says her name is Andalucia. She asks him if he?s married and he says:

?Not any more.?

She gets a phone call on her cell and tells him they can have the drink later on the plane. She is in seat 42F rear of the plane. Jack says that he is in 23D.

Then we see Sawyer in a police station facing a cop who tells him he knows who he is and what he?s done. I believe Sawyer?s real name was referred to as James Forth. They don?t want to spend the money on incarcerating him, so they are deporting him. He is warned not to come back to Australia. He won?t.

Our next encounter is with Kate, who is in chains. The marshal (who died earlier) is at the airline counter and his case of guns is being gone through by a security person. He?s asked about ?the model plane? in the case and the reason for the five guns. The Marshal says he?s been hunting for her for three years. He says she got her boyfriend killed and that later she tracked down where he had deposited the plane. She seduced a guy to help rob the bank and then shot him, taking no money, just the plane.

?It?s the one thing in the whole world that she cares about.? Kate reacts and in the ensuing grapple, the marshal knocks her to the ground.

Pointing at her, he says, ?That?s the reason I carry five guns.?

Sayid, Shannon, and Boone are next. Shannon, being b*itchy as usual is asked nicely by Sayid asks her to watch his bag while he goes off for some reason. She agreed. They are at the airport. Boone returns and says he can?t get them first class seating. Shannon reacts by telling a security guard that some Arab guy left a bag on the seat next to her. Okay, so now we know, the security people dumped him on the Oceanic Flight also.

The final back-story is Sun and Jin. They are at the airport waiting to get on board the plane. They are having coffee. There is a couple behind them watching and listening, thinking that the Korean couple doesn?t speak English. The woman makes several derogatory remarks. Sun accidentally spills coffee on Jin and he leaves to find a restroom to clean up. I swore Sun was going to turn and give the woman a tongue-lashing, but it didn?t happen.

So there are the bits and pieces of our survivors? back-stories.

Now back to the present. Walt gets up to pee and he sees something back in the jungle. It comes closer and it?s Danielle, carrying her rifle. He runs back to the camp, waking Michael up. Now everyone is up and Sayid wants to know what?s happening.

?They are coming. The others are coming.?

This is one scary moment after it being so peaceful. She tells Jack that when the black smoke rises over the island it means they are coming. She reveals that she was seven months? pregnant when her team of six came to the island. She delivered her own baby, Alix, a girl, and a week later, the others came and took her away.

?Now they are coming for all of you. You must run, hide, or die.?

Jack approaches Michael and asks how soon he can launch. Michael says they need rollers to move the boat. Everyone can help. Jack rounds up everyone. They start pulling and pushing, but the boat slides off the tracks and onto the sand. Everyone thinks it was Sawyer?s fault.

Walt shouts and points inland. Black smoke is rising above the jungle, ominously.

Danielle Rousseau wants to know where they can hide. They take her back into the jungle and show her the hatch. It could hide forty people. She says she knows where there is dynamite to blow it up (hatch only of course.)

(Just about this time, the phone rang and I missed some dialogue and action. So the above paragraph might be part true and part assumption.)

Jack decides a few will go for the dynamite. The science teacher, Ardt (that?s the way he spelled it), says he should go because the dynamite is old. Jack wants to know who told him and he responds:

?If you want something to be a secret, don?t tell the fat guy.? Hurley pegged.

Jack finds Sawyer hard at work in the bamboo patch. Jack tells him he thinks he must have been a lumberjack. Just guessing, of course. Sawyer looks at him and tells him about meeting the drunk in the bar. As the tale unfolds, we see Jack staggered by the observations made by Sawyer. His father loved him. His father thought he would be a much better surgeon than he had been. His father didn?t have the courage to pick up the phone and call his son to tell him. Sawyer and Jack shake hands and Jack wishes him good luck or maybe each the other.

Kate approaches Jack and tells him she wants to go with him. She?s obviously given up on going on the boat. She looks for Sawyer, but doesn?t find him. (Hey, he?s in the bamboo patch.)

So led by Danielle, Locke, Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Ardt start the trek to find the dynamite. It begins to get fairly spooky. Finally, Ardt decides to go back. Danielle is leading them to the Black Rock and it?s definitely scary in this part of the jungle.

At the beach, Jin and Michael watch in astonishment as Sawyer (I love the guy) brings the mast for them to put up. Finally, he contributed something substantial. They put it up on the boat. Sayid joins them and gives Michael a radar screen that he made from parts of the two planes.

He hands Michael a flare gun with just one flare left, ?Use it wisely.?

Back in the jungle, it?s raining and it?s dark?and damn scary. Suddenly, they hear noise. They stop, turn, watching Ardt run to and past them, screaming, ?Run. They?re coming. Run.? It sounds like a T-Rex thundering toward them; it?s so loud that the ground shakes. Then it disappears (well it really never appeared) in the opposite direction. Scary moment number one thousand.

Back at the beach, Walt approaches Shannon. He tells her he wants her to have Victor, his dog. He says that Victor is a good listener and that he tells him things that he can?t tell other people. Shannon is touched, smiles, and takes the leash.

In the jungle, the group is now in front of the Black Rock?which looks like ? wow ? a pirate ship! Holy cow!

At the beach, Sun hands Jin a crude dictionary she has made for him. In one of the best scenes, they tell each other they love him/her and kiss.
?I am so sorry,? he says to her.
?I love you.? She answers.

The boat is launched. It seems to move parallel to the beach out to sea. Victor pulls away from Shannon. Walt, however points back to the beach and tells him to go back?go back?the dog turns and does. Damn smart dog.

REMARKS:

Ummm, wasn?t the husband of the African-American woman also in the rear of the plane? Now we have another person identified as being in the back of the plane in Seat 42F. Are we being set up for the appearance of these people next season? Remember the man?s wife says that he is alive and she believes it totally.

(Notice that 23 and 42 are both ONE OF THOSE NUMBERS! Geez, what is it with JJ and numbers. The number 47 is really prominent on his other show ALIAS.)

The Black Rock: It looked like the ship from Pirates of the Caribbean. It could be, you know, as ABC is owned by Disney.

Then there were the promos for next week: After what Danielle told us, I was sure Claire?s baby would be the next to disappear. Sure enough, it happened.

The raft is not going to make it, that I?m sure of since Sawyer and Jin are on it.

Do they want the baby to raise as the mate of Alix? Is Alix, Danielle?s child, now at least sixteen, the Princess of the Others?

FYI, after Arszt (sp?) and the others are being chased in the Jungle, they are being chased by the Tree Waving monster that killed the pilot. Danielle tells the others that it is a Security System. She claims that itis guarding the island.
