This week?s episode is more about Jack. Last week we saw Locke bring Boone into the cave camp gravely wounded and terribly battered by his fall while inside the old plane wreck. Locke who had been unable to explore the plane himself because his legs would not work somehow had newfound strength to bring Boone to camp. Then he disappeared.

First, a little about Jack?s back-story: It seems our hero was engaged to a beautiful young woman, who was injured in an automobile accident. Her car had a blowout and it flipped over the divider, striking Jack?s SUV. She broke her back and Jack saved her. She tells everyone what happened at the rehearsal dinner. Then Sara, Jack?s fianc?e, also tells him how much she loves him and how proud she will be being his wife. ?I will dance at our wedding.? She toasts him with a glass of champagne. Later, they play ?chop-sticks? at the piano and she tells him ?I can?t wait to marry you, Jack Shepard.?

Later, Jack is sitting with his legs (fully clothed) at the pool and it?s obvious he is a little smashed. His father joins him, taking off his shoes and socks first. They talk about Jack?s girl and about the upcoming wedding. Jack tells him that Sara wants them to write their own wedding vows. He has been unable to write them because he?s afraid he won?t be the husband and father he wants to be.

His father tells him, ?Commitment is what makes you tick. The problem is you?re not good at letting go.?

Jack tells him what he found the bride-to-be wrote and confesses he is having difficulty finding his own words. He wonders if all of this is because he saved her life. He wonders if he can be the husband or father that he wants to be. His father wants to know if he loves her. Jack does. His father tells him that when the time comes, he will find the words to tell her how much he loves her.

At the wedding, Jack listens to the words Susan wrote to him. Then it?s his turn. He hesitates, stumbles and finally admits he didn?t write any. He could not find the words to say how much he loves her or words as beautiful as hers. ?I didn?t fix you. You fixed me.?

So there we are. We know now that Jack was married.

Back to the island:

Jack with the help of others moves Boone into a tented area. Kate and Sun are trying to help. Jack needs alcohol. He tells Kate to get to the beach and get all the alcohol she can find from Sawyer. She hesitates, watching Boone?s distress and finally leaves. ?You are not going to die,? he cries at Boone who has and is losing blood.

Meanwhile Claire is walking on the beach with some difficulty, but pauses to watch Michael and Jin work hard at building their boat. Sawyer says they have an overzealous work ethic. She leaves and shortly after that, Kate comes to Sawyer telling him about Boone and that they need all the alcohol they can get. He piles it into her knapsack and she leaves.

At the cave, Jack is sewing Boone?s wounds and Sun is assisting him. Charlie joins them and watches. Sweat is pouring off Jack?s body. Finished, he has to set Boone?s leg. Sun hands Jack a stick and he waves her off. She says it is not for him, but gently places it between Boone?s lips. Jack sets the leg as Boone screams.

As she hurries back to the cave she hears someone moaning. She stops, looks around, and finally sees Claire. Kate assesses Claire?s condition and believes the baby is coming. She yells for help. At the beach, Jin hears her in between the crashing surf. He hurries back through the jungle and finds the two women. Kate gets him to understand that baby is coming and that she needs Jack. She gives him the knapsack with the alcohol. He nods and runs to the cave.

Meanwhile Jack knows he has to have blood. He working with bamboo to use as a needle and tells Sun to get Charlie to ask among the passengers for their blood type. Unfortunately, not many do know and it seems Jack has O- negative, which is a universal blood donor type.

Shannon and Sayeed are walking through the jungle and he brings her to a romantic spot he has prepared. She tells Sayeed that Boone is her stepbrother, that he is in love with her, and that she is not. She loves him as a brother. However that said she also tells him she wants their relationship to go a little slow. Sayeed tells her he has hopes, not expectations.

Sun returns with a sea urchin. She shows Jack that the spine is as sharp as a needle as well as being hollow. With Sun?s help, Jack prepares to give his own blood to Boone, who is unconscious. As he does, Jin runs up to tell him that Claire is going to have the baby and Kate needs him. Sun translates this since Jin knows no English. Charlie runs up and Jack gives him specific directions to give to Kate, because she is going to have to deliver the baby.

?Tell Kate that she is going to have to deliver the baby. When the contractions get to be sixty seconds apart to have Claire push but not too hard at first until the baby?s head is out and then push as hard as she can. Be sure that she cleans out the baby?s nose and mouth.?

Claire is panicking and says she is okay, the contractions stopped. Kate is worried and then sees that Claire?s water broke. She IS going to have that baby. She tells her Jack is coming.

Back at the cave, Boone regains consciousness and tells Jack about the plane and about the ?hatch? in the jungle. He drifts off calling for Shannon. Sun sees that Jack is looking bad and she pulls the needle out of his arm. She says, ?It?s not working.? Boone looks even worse. The blood Jack is giving to Boone is pooling above his leg. The leg, crushed in the accident, is dead. Jack knows he has to amputate. He sends Hurley for Michael. Sun wants him to stop and rest before he continues this marathon to save Boone?s life.

In the jungle, Claire is scared. She is remembering what the psychic said but cannot remember what happened to her the week she was missing with Ethan. She wonders if ?they? did something to her baby. She is afraid to give birth, but Kate reassures her. She is giving her instructions to ?push?. Charles and Jin have built a fire and are watching from a distance. Kate tells her she has to do it, because the ?baby is all of us.?

Michael and Jack have rigged what looks like a door to slam down on the leg to cut it off. They test is on a log which is sheared in half. Jack sends Michael away. Sun leaves after staring at him accusingly.

She told him, ?You can?t save him.?

?Don?t tell me what I can?t do.? He responds.

Jack is working up the courage to do it when Boone awakens and stops him. He knows that he is messed up inside. He does not want him to do it.

?Let me go,? he whispers and then says quietly ?Tell Shannon?? and dies.

Making Claire push, push and push some more, Kate delivers a baby boy to Claire. Jin and Charlie congratulate each other and then they hug.

At the beach, everyone is ecstatic at the sight of a newborn baby. In the distance, Hurley sees Shannon and Sayeed walking toward them up the beach. He prods Jack and he looks. He leaves the group walking toward Shannon. We don?t hear what he says, but we see their response. Later, at the cave, Shannon sobs over Boone?s body.

Later, Jack tells Kate that Boone didn?t die, he was murdered, and that he is going after Locke.

One thing we?re sure of now. Jack was married, but his story has not ended.

I think the real question is why isn't he still married now?

I'm hoping they get back together. But I think that they will get off the island together.

I don't think he decides to stay well at least that's what I've read from spoilers

Apparently there is but I at this point have no clue and I hope it doesn't deal with apocalyptic consequences. It does have to do with the island but that's speculation and spoilerish...

Jin shook hands, but Charlie grabbed him and they hugged. Neither was the father, but it was a joyful occasion.

I was sorry, but I sure didn't want his leg cut off the way Jack was contemplating. I would have said the same thing Boone did. "Let me go."

I think he did get married, but is not now and that's for future storyline.

I'm hoping they get back together. But I think that they will get off the island together.

Still it's promatical considering JJ and his partner, Lindehof, penchant for trickery.

No - I think something happened to his wife again, medically speaking, and Jack couldn't save her for whatever reason, hence, Jack's attitude and mannerisms.

Will Jin and Sun get back together? Or will he attempt to get off the island with Michael in the boat?
Yes - i think they'll get back to gether. No, I don't think anyone will be getting off the island ... that's the whole point of this show.

Yes - but right now, I have no idea

I would say Sayid - however, in a recent preview, I was positive that I saw Sayid being shot by someone...but it was sooo brief, like a split second, but I am sure that it was Sayid that went flying backwards. Anyone else see this?

Not Sayid, but Locke that flew backward as if he were shot.
Of course, Sayid was pointing the gun at him...but as with every promo, what you see is not what you get most of the time.
