Gun Issue

• Do you think that they had the gun "issue"there to make a political statment about gun usage?
  
• Do you think that some one will use the guns for a purpose...like killing other people... in the future?
  
• Did you trust Locke with a gun? How about Sawyer? Or any of the people who had them... Sayid, Kate, Jack, Locke, Sawyer, Charlie (later)

Well the show was done by J.J. Abrams the maker of Alias so i dont think he was making a political issue with firearms use....there firearms all over Alias with no real underlying meaning.

Sure,theres alot more out on the island...heck the french women wouldnt leave without her rifle,and who knows whats in the hatch.

Did you trust Locke with a gun?
Locke has only done good things,except the whole boone thing but that turned boone around quick...other then that he has really touched and save alot of the main charaters.

How about Sawyer?
He is negligent i figured he would have killed someone accidentaly but we now knoww what he did with pistol.

Jack picked the right people whole heartedly to pack a gun...except charlie of course...i think he is done with killing bigtime.

the rest of the gun party are skilled so they wouldnt have a problem.

I trust all in the group with the guns..regardless.

what I think will happen, is that somehow, the guns will fall into the 'wrong hands', that being Ethan, the French woman, or any other 'stray' that they encounter, and that will result somehow, in one of the main characters being shot and killed by, in what is really, their own weapons of 'defence'.

Yeah, the guns will probably be used again, probably to kill someone or something (who says ethan was a someone?!)

I trusted all of them with guns, even sawyer, i dont think he's as bad a guy as they liked us to think...

and I don't think Danielle would be considered the "wrong hands" she, as far as we know, hasn't done anything to harm the survivors, and she helped sayid, didn't she?

:madcomp: First, I hate my computer sometimes. I hope this doesn't end up a double post because the thing lost the server or something like that when I tried to post last time. And . . . :@#$:

• No, I don't think there was a gun control issue going on in the episode. Maybe a sly reference, but I think it was just the way Jack wanted to do things. Or whatever.
• Yes, I think there's the chance that someone may get their hands on one of the guns, but I don't think Danielle (that's her name, right?) is the issue. She's kind of off on her own and not really an issue for the survivors. I think "the Others" are more of an issue. Or at least what the "Others" might be able to cause someone to do with one of those guns.
• I trust Jack's judgement with who he gave the guns to. They all had experience with firearms so they would be the people I would've given 'em to as well. Okay, so maybe I wouldn't have trusted Sawyer so much with a gun if I were on the island, but all things considered, since he's had experience with one, he would've gotten one regardless.
• As for the issue of Charlie and the firearm, well, I have to admit that I think he's had enough of guns for awhile. Now, if Claire's life were threatened again, I wouldn't trust Charlie anywhere near me with a gun. And like I said earlier, who knows what the "Others" could make someone innocent (even a little innocent, like Charlie) with one of those things.

I just had to make a list thingy since someone posted the directions for making one. And I hope that sentence made sense to someone because I'm sleepy right now and I don't know if it or any of the sentences above make total sense to me at this point in time. :blink:
