The fight: Did Jack imagine it?

When Jack and Kate was searching for " Claire and Charlie", Jack heard Claire screams and took off in the direction that they were coming from, yet while Kate looked concern , she claim she didn't hear anything. when Jack fell down , he awaken to see Ethan standing over him, with his foot on his chest, who told him to stop following him. Than Ethan Kick his butt from her to next Sunday ( I was going entitle this thread " can Jack fight?" ). Kate arrive , right after Ethan left, but once again , she claim she didn't see anything. so did Jack imagine it? or was Kate lying?..could Ethan be a ghost, who can appear to whom ever he wants, and only chose for Jack to see him ( than again they all could be a ghosts, like in the six sense, they just haven't figure that out)..or maybe, only Jack could hear and see ghost, which would explain why he saw his father and no one else have. so I would like to know your views on the subject.

I think that in some way, Ethan was never there, it was just Jack's conscience because when Jack "saw" his dad, it ended up leading him to WATER which helped them alot. When Jack "saw" Ethan and "heard" Claire, it led him to CHARLIE whom he saved his life.

but how come he looked like he'd had the bloody hell beaten out of him? I agree he mighta imagined the scream, but the rain had stopped when Kate found him, so he was probably out for a while, so Ethan had plenty of time to get away. And ghosts cant kidnap people...

..when Kate caught up to Jack, and he told her about Ethan,. Kate said that he hit his head, ..she didn't believe Jack. she ask no question, nor did she seem to entertain the notion that he was actually there. Her lack of responde seem to dismiss the notion that Ethan was actually there. But why? Kate could have Just miss him, but if that have happen, wouldn't she had been more suprise? or at least concern ..something. <_< ..instead she seem to try to discourage him from following him . ...and Ghost can do a lot of things, ..didn't you see "The Grudge"


<_< Charlie said that he didn't see anything, and that "they" only wanted Claire...."They"..he did not mention Ethan. so, what did Charlie remember? While we "Know" Charlie must have seen Ethan, did he see the others? If he did, than how come he didn't see anything? and how could Kate be so sure that Ethan wasn't there? so, while we entertain the notion, that it took kate a long time to get to Jack, how did she know how long he was out? no i haven't seen the grudge, but I don't think they can harm people directly, they can move objects and stuff
K, I said there was still the problem of Jack looking beat up, I take that back, I was looking at Screen Caps and you really can't see much blood, but since it had been raining, the bloody mighta washed away. But still, I think there might be a little swelling or SOMETHING after being kicked in the head...
But still, if Kate thought Jack hit his head, then she wouldn't believe Jack anyway. she wouldn't show concern or any reaction except disbelief. She would be worried about Jack, and think that maybe he had been hallucinating or something, but she wouldn't be worried about Ehtan, and she wouldn't want Jack going after someone she didn't think he had just seen.
And Charlie was blindfolded when they found him, what if they didn't want him or Claire to see where they were going, so if they did escape, they wouldn't know where they were, so they blindfolded them through the whole trip? They wouldn't be able to see things then. And he was dead for a few minutes, even if he wasn't dead, he suffered severe trauma, so he was probably in a state of shock and couldn't remember.

So I don't think Ethan is a ghost, but Jack MIGHT have imagined being attacked by him.

:o Jack imagine it. the fight never happen! someone on another board pointed out that when Ethan is beating Jack up, he puts his boot, his wet, muddy boot, against, presses it against Jack's light grey shirt. One would expect a boot print there. However, when Kate helps Jack up, there's nothing on his shirt besides the normal mud that a fall would give.
did anyone else notice that?
