Who is Sawyer?

I am SO ready to find out more about Sawyer's past. I feel like maybe he's not really this "horrible" person all of the characters (and audience) see. In some of his conversations, it just seems there's some good in him...somewhere...deep down. However, this whole thing with not immediately turning over the inhalers for Shannon doesn't portray him very well. Maybe he doesn't have them? Who knows....ugh...Wednesday is so far away.

I agree. I think Sawyer isn't as bad as he seems. I mean, yeah he was mean to Kate when he didn't tell her about Jack being caught in the caves, but I just think it's because he likes her. Other than that, he seems like a nice guy that is just trying really hard to survive. I never expected any of the other characters' pasts to be how they were, so ya never know. ;)

A man who think he is tough on the outside. Deep inside, he's afraid, a scared child that would never hurt anyone.
He is too overprotective of himself and just doesn't care for anything accept fighting.

I am a huge fan of Sawyer, and not just because he is amazingly hot. Yeah, he's a jackass, and he knows it. He purposely tries to push people away from him so - I think, anyway - he can't get attached and then hurt them.

He grew up as a con man. And despite the fact that he may or may not have love people he cons, he knows he'll have to betray them in the end. So he decides to make everyone hate him and expect the worst so when bad things happen, they expect it.

Agreed.

I hate how so many of my friends hate him. He's actually a really good guy just...a little misunderstood.

I agree, but he's a bit more misunderstood than 'a litte'. Or, in my opinion at least. Kate may be the only one who even sort of understands where he's coming from
