He was forced to kill someone for money for Sun's father.

One thing I noticed is that he never explained it to Sun as far as we know. Was that the only real occurance of something like this, violent in nature? I mean, if I was in Sun's situation I'd naturally assume Jin killed someone... which isn't really the case. He hurt the guy to save him, and as far as I can tell, was a honorable act.

Yeah, but we don't know he's a hitman as in he kills people. We've never seen that, have we? We've only seen him beat someone up - badly, granted - but in order to save his life.

In my opinion, that's rather honorable.
