"Lost" (8:00-9:00 p.m.)
ABC's "Lost" qualified as the No. 1 entertainment program on Wednesday night in Total Viewers (16.4 million) and Adults 18-49 (6.1/15). Versus NBC's original entertainment shows on the night, "Lost" towered above the highly promoted season premiere of "The West Wing" (12.0 million & 4.0/9 from 9:00-10:00 p.m.) and also outpaced NBC's "Law & Order" by a sizeable amount (13.1 million & 4.4/10 from 10:00-11:00 p.m.). "Lost" led its nearest non-sports competition in the time period by nearly 9 million viewers (CBS' "60 Minutes" - 7.5 million) and by 154% in Adults 18-49 (WB's "Smallville" - 2.4/6).
* Although it faced the strong draw of playoff baseball on Fox, ABC's "Lost" gained 1.2 million viewers (15.8 million to 17.0 million) and grew by 10% in Adults 18-49 (5.8/15 to 6.4/15) from its first half-hour to its second half-hour.
