The survivors had gathered on the beach, and Liana stood in the middle of the group as they discussed.
"Look, i'm telling you, its the only way." A man Liana didn't recognize was speaking. He had dark brown hair and a short beard.
"It's disgusting. These people's families wouldn't let them do this." Another woman replied angrily.
"If we try to bury the bodies, they'll rot before we can even get the graves dug. There are countless more of them inside the fuselage. We need to just burn the whole thing."
"There is no way we can burn the bodies! It's aweful. It should be the choice of the families when we get back!" Everyone was quiet. No one wanted to say the words they all knew to be true - rescue may not get here for a while.
"He's right." Liana stepped forward. "We have to burn them, we don't have a choice. Even if we could burry them, they'd no doubt be dug up by wild animals. We need to do it tonight, at sundown. MAybe... maybe someone will see the fire." Everyone one silent, but no one vioced disagreement. Liana nodded. The little group broke up to go about the rest of their chores.
