I've got no idea. The writers love to mess with our mind.
What we know:
- Sawyer cares for Kate
- Kate cares for both
- Jack cares for himself
- Jack likes Kate kisses
- both have seen Kate emotionally vulnerable and/or unstable
- Kate/Jack were big in the S2 finale
- Kate/Sawyer in S3, so far
- "Why Sawyer?"
- Jack has Juliet to be distracted by (could work both ways: giving Jack an alternative/push Kate from Jack, or creating tension in any Jack/Kate relationship - Kate/Sawyer could suffer the Sydney/Vaughn syndrome)
- Kate and Sawyer are caged near each other and get to share fishcuits

- The fourth episode is Sawyer-centric, and Kate's Choice happens "in the first four episodes" (pp)
